Your first visit

What to expect at the range.

Club shooting is conducted at Cessnock Rifle Range. The first step is an enquiry so that a club representative can explain the current arrangements, safety expectations, and suitable session for a visitor.

Times and distances vary across the current range program. Range days and visitor arrangements can change, so please review the calendar and contact the club before attending.

A considered introduction

Three things the club will help you understand.

01 · Safety first

Range procedure

All shooting is governed by clear range commands and supervision. A club contact can explain how a visit is arranged and what safe participation involves.

02 · The disciplines

Choose your focus

Target Rifle uses iron sights; F Class is a long-range prone discipline with scope-equipped rifles. See the discipline guide for a plain-language comparison.

03 · Your equipment

Start by asking

Do not purchase equipment before speaking with the club. The appropriate first steps depend on the discipline and the current range arrangements.

Bring your questions, not assumptions.

Tell the club whether you are interested in Target Rifle, F Class, or simply want to know how the sport works. A representative can give you current, practical guidance.
